Powerful People Choose Peace
Make a decision today to choose peace!
Throughout the process of life, however, I have learned this principle that has transformed the way I think and live:
Powerful people change what they can and choose peace in what they cannot.
One day, someone called me up and wanted to inform me that someone was gossiping about me. They wanted me to be aware of what was being said. In times past, I may have allowed them to share. But what good would that have done? You see, I am powerless to change another person. All that I can do is make a choice within myself. I cannot change them, but I can choose to set my heart right before my God and to honor those around me.
Life is too precious and our purpose too valuable. I cannot waste my emotional energies on critics, cynics, or things I cannot control. We have the amazing ability to choose power in the things we can change and to choose peace in the things we cannot change. And when we choose peace, there is an absence of chaos, turmoil, and drama. We set ourselves up to enjoy peace in our internal world.
Father, I thank You for this amazing one and I pray that they would discover the power that they hold to choose peace in all things. I pray that they would walk in the grace and freedom to forgive and release others to live their own lives. I bless them now to be empowered for a life of peace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
God bless you,
