We are called to influence our world. Disheartened people do not positively affect the world around them. Even though our hearts will face pressure and come under attack, we do not have to settle for staying there. As we choose to consistently focus on the goodness of God, when our reality does not meet our expectations, we can still put our hope in a God who promises us a future that is good. In doing so, our mind, our attitude, our emotions, and therefore the culture around us is focused on a God of hope no matter what our circumstances look or feel like.
