EP56: WHAT IS IN YOUR HANDS?

by Giving Light Devotional Podcast | Have you ever gotten stuck searching for your purpose in life or maybe believing that you have nothing good to give? In this week’s devotional, Katie Stansfield encourages us that God isn’t looking for our perfection or even our readiness, all He wants is our YES to Him to use what He has put in our hands to use.

DEVOTIONAL TOOLS

SCRIPTURES

Ephesians 2:10, “We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!” (TPT)

Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (NKJV)

Exodus 4:2, “So the Lord said to [Moses], “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.” (NKJV)

1 Peter 4:10, “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” (NKJV)

Hebrews 11:8-10, “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” (NKJV)

Ephesians 1:3-6, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” (NKJV)

QUESTIONS

  • Have you ever found yourself searching for your purpose? It might be closer than you think. Write down a list of things you are good at now. Ask God to show you how doing those things is an activation of the gifts He has put inside of you.
  • Think about a time when a seemingly simple act of obedience yielded big results. Write it down and commit your heart to saying YES to God in all things.
  • To say that you have nothing good to give is an insult to the Gift Giver. Ask God to forgive you for thinking those thoughts about His excellently designed creation (you!) Now ask God to tell you what He thinks about you. Write down what He says.
