Mark 4:38, “But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” (NKJV)

John 15:19, “So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.” (NLT) 

Mark 4:39, “Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.” (NKJV)

James 4:7, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (NKJV) 

Mark 4:40, “Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (NLT) 

Hebrews 11:1-2, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.” (NKJV)

• Lack of peace can be manifested in many ways. What are some ways that it manifests in your life?
• Has there been a time in your life where you placed your attention on the wind and the waves of your personal storm? If you, how did that affect you?
• Jesus explains in John 15:19 that He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. What does this tell us about Father God in Mark 4:38-39?
• What must our hearts and minds be connected to if we are going to speak peace in a chaotic situation? Why is that connection critical to see change?
• Do you feel it is significant that Jesus first rebuked the wind and then spoke peace to the waves? If so, why and how does that apply specifically to your life?
• Why would Peter experience a loss of peace when Jesus was right next to him? Why is our faith linked to the manifestation of peace? (If you would like more teaching on faith please check out our 5 part series on faith in Episodes 07-11.)

Take some time with the Holy Spirit and connect to His heart for your current situations. Write down His revealed perspective. Press in and seek for any underlying/hidden causes for your situation. (If you don’t receive anything, don’t worry. You can only respond to things that have been revealed.) If these causes are revealed, rebuke them. Then speak peace over the affected areas in your life.
