Since its founding, Gideons International has placed and distributed more than 2 billion Bibles and New Testaments around the word yielding countless testimonies of lives changed and set free due to the power of the Living Word. On Sunday, August 27th, we are happy to invite Gideons representative, William Hine to share with us.

William Hine is a retired US Navy Submarine Commander with 20 years of service. Upon retirement, he bought a farm in Fulton County PA and currently serves in many local organizations including The Fulton County Food Basket Board, the Salvation Army, Federal Emergency Management Administration, and the Fulton County Medical Center Foundation.

William came to Christ without reserve in 1982. He joined Gideons International in 1985 and has served in numerous Gideon Camp and State Association offices, including Gideon State President of Pennsylvania. In addition, he has done much international work with the Gideons in nations throughout Europe, Paraguay, and Kenya. He currently serves as the Gideon Regional Program Leader in Church Ministry for southern Pennsylvania.

He has been a member of Siloam United Methodist Church of Harrisonville PA since 1982. He has been happily married for over 33 years to Dr. Louise McDaniel-Hine, a retired Public-School Principal who now has retired (again) as the Administrator of the Fulton County Community Christian School after 6 years of service. Louise also serves the Gideons in many functions and is very active in service at she and William’s church. Both of the couple lost their first spouses to cancer in 1981 – 1982. They have 4 adult children and 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren in their blended family. (Plus, more in Africa!) The couple live in an old farmhouse surrounded by 56 acres in the mountains of South Central Pennsylvania.
