While spending time with the Lord recently, I began meditating on what it means to have confident rest. Rest really isn’t a passive thing; it isn’t complacent. When we really know who we are in Christ, we can have true confidence and rest in that.

Since psalms were meant to be sung, I made this simple iPhone recording to share with you what came from this moment.

I hope you enjoy and receive rest through this simple psalm.

AS THE DAY TURNS TO NIGHT

SO MY SOUL WILL REST IN YOUR LIGHT

AS EVENING COMES I LAY MY HEAD

ON THE PROMISES OF YOUR GREAT LOVE

I WON’T BE AFRAID

WHEN TROUBLE COMES MY WAY

I WILL NOT BE SILENT

NO I WON’T HANG MY FACE

FOR THE LORD HE GOES BEFORE ME

AND HIS JOY WITH BE MY STRENGTH

FOR HIS JOY WILL BE MY STRENGTH

I WILL RISE ABOVE WITH PRAISE

FOR YOU COVER ME ALWAYS

LORD I STAND AMAZED
